Father Val Mc Innes, OP Received the Hazelton Award

Last Tuesday Nov. 11, Father Val Mc Innes, OP received the Hazelton Award from Herschel Abbott in his Touro Hospital room in New Orleans. Father Val's niece, Marilynn and his youngest brother James came down from Ontario to be with him for this special moment. The award, given by several members of the Order of St. Lazarus, of which Fr. Val was a chaplain, was a hand-carved wooden statue of St. Lazarus.

Fr. Val has been moved back to Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Facility where he has been placed on Hospice.

Japanese quake’s epicenter located near Marian apparition site

The epicenter of the earthquake is located near the site of an apparition in which Mary warned about a worldwide disaster that could afflict humanity. In 1973, the Virgin Mary was said to have predicted a number of future events - including natural disasters even more serious than Friday's earthquake and tsunami - during three appearances to a Japanese religious sister, Sr. Agnes Sasagawa.
